The Kodiyoor Sree Aadhiparasakthi and Sree Bhadrakali temple is an ancient Indian hindu temple built in the 1940s, which is located on the outskirts of Kodiyoor in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu.
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Sree Aadhiparasakthi, popularly known as Sakthi. Other upa deities in the temple include Sree Bhadrakali, Maadan, Yakshi, Ganapathy, Sasthavu, Nager and Yogeeshwaran.
The temple opens only on the Pournami day of every month and on special occasions.
Pournami is the day when the moon is at its full strength. Pooja’s and dedications to goddesses are very empowering and fruitful for the devotees. Therefore, Nirmala lamp, special pujas and other special offerings are performed as per the custom. The purpose is to provide Karyasiddhi to the devotees who participate in these pooja.
The devotees visiting this temple offer prayers to Goddess Sri Adhiparashakti for auspiciousness and child blessing.

Devi’s blessings to Karnavar lead to the construction of the temple in 1940’s.
Karnavar’s Dream
Kodiyoor Anngannu (Karnavar) dreamt that a deity was buried in a place called Kattimancode and should be enshrined at Kodiyoor near Mahadevar temple. Adv K Bhaskara Pillai, Karnor’s nephew, lacking enough financial support then, later purchased land and built a temple with his elder sister’s (Akkachi) support. After their demise, rituals were performed by priests. The dilapidated temple was restored, and Kumbabhishekam and Punarprathishta were performed in January 2024.


Mahadevar Temple
Mahadevar Temple is believed to be more than thousand years old and it is managed by the HRNC department, Govt of Tamil Nadu. The devotees visiting the Devi Sree Aadiparasakthi temple are suggested to visit the Lord Mahadevar temple also. Mahadevar temple is open on all days.
Mahadevar Temple has sub Deities Vinayagar, Sasthavu, Varahi, Santhanakrishnan and Nagar.
